Vartdal Plastindustri on Thursday signed a production and distribution agreement regarding the sale of the patented system to Grade Floor AS.
The system was presented in its entirety at the Norwegian Takmesse which has been arranged in Trondheim for the past two days.
On Friday, a solemn test was carried out with this solution and other products on the market. A surface of about ten square meters should be covered with plates as quickly as possible by two people. It ended with victory for the newcomers.
"This kind of competition provides the opportunity for today's systems to compare with the new system we are now launching in the market," says Håkon Woldsund, sales manager of construction in Vartdal Plastindustri.
Colleague Roger Holen, who is present at the roof fair in Trondheim, brings out aspects such as superior geometry, high productivity gains, smaller cuts and shrinkage that benefits with the new solution.
- There will also be correct amounts on roofs as the roof is prefabricated, there will be fewer design hours and work trips, says Holen.
Woldsund also points out that the more complex the roof, the faster the system.
- The solution is based on a single module-based system with standardized panels for installation in designated locations. The Grade Roof system is free of traditional wedges and gutters, which simplifies the laying method and reduces wear and tear from ice and snow. With Grade Roof you will always achieve a perfect fall, and the possibility of errors is reduced, says Woldsund.
The solution must be designed for green roofs.
- We hope to showcase the solution to many of the players in the industry at Takmessen, says Holen.
Grand Floor is a Swedish-Norwegian product that has so far been tried in practice. Managing director Stein Elling Wirum informs the Construction Industry that so far 10.000 square meters of the new tiles have been laid out on roofs in Sweden. Vartdal Plastindustri at Sunnmøre, which will produce the plates, will start production during the summer so that the new product can be on the market late summer once.
